1.
You do not need to have given birth,
To be called a mum.
You cannot become a mum,
Just because you gave birth.
A mum is a symbol of
unconditional love, sincere care,
Warm words, soothing hug and
Careful discipline of her little one(s),
With no room for money in exchange.
If you cannot understand this,
You are simply not a Mum.
2.
Mum is a powerful word,
That many do not understand.
A sign of love and care,
An epitome of warmth.
Mum is discipline.
Food tastes best from Mum's hands.
No better pillow that Mum's lap.
No better cushion than mum's chest.
Nothing more intuitive than Mum's heart.
You need not be a biological Mum to have motherliness.
3.
Mum is just not love,
Mum is the arm that feeds you.
Mum is strictness and rules.
Mum is an answer to all questions.
The arm that nurtures you, the loving touch that soothes you,
Those ears that listen with care.
A bonding with no expectations,
In essence is Mum; need not be biological!
4.
Do not bear a child for pleasure,
Do not bear a child to expect returns.
Do not bear a child when his/ her growth is not of any concern.
Do not bear a child if you cannot take care,
Do not bear a child if they seem a burden.
Your duty as a mother is not just giving birth.
Remember, Mum is an important role.
5.
Mum in all languages mean the same.
Mum is that lingua franca of all animals.
Meaning of Mum never changes but with exceptions.
Mum is not just that woman who bore you, but,
the word applies to any woman-Who sees you with care,
Loves, listens to your pain and, importantly,
who embraces you with all her heart.
Mum need not be biological for being motherly.
6.
When happy the word is Mum,
When in pain it is Mum,
When wanting to vent, it is Mum.
When in a verbal combat, it is Mum.
Some blessed with an understanding Mum,
But some clearly not;
Some blessed with a warm Mum and some clearly not!
Mum not your choice; imbibe her or not is yours.
