SMT. BRUNDA PUNALUR: A LEGEND IN THE BOOK RELEASING TRADITION (Thodupuzha K Shankar, Mumbai)

INTRODUCTION:
SMT. BRUNDA PUNALUR, who has by now, become a legend in the Book Releasing Tradition, is a very humble young prolific writer in MALAYALAM settled down in PUNALUR, Kerala. With a flair for writing right from the beginning, her passion for writing comprises of a wide range of topics. She writes poems as well as stories and articles and has already carved a niche in the broad literary world. May it be a poem or article or a short story, it touches the core or entire gamut of human life, viewed from many angles or perspectives. She also pens feature articles on prominent as well as upcoming artistes and literary figures in various fields which are instantly published in popular magazines in Kerala. This writer also had chanced to read some of her articles. Her attention focusses on the contemporary subjects. She and her whole family, all are settled in punalur. Her father Advocate Somarajan is a leading lawyer in Punalur Kerala. She has done her graduation and also acquired some additional qualification.
As a noted progressive writer as well as columnist, with innovative ideas and ideologies, Smt. Brunda Punalur has a mesmerising diction and style of writing on any topic and capturing the minds of the readers. Today, we have a variety of readers with different aptitudes for reading and also there is no dearth of any kind of writers or readers in the present epoch. To capture the minds of the readers is more important in the midst of multitude of varied writers.
A PEEP INTO HER LITERARY DOMAIN:
As a unique authoress, Brunda is really a dedicated writer who is incessantly striving to make landmark contributions to the literary world. She has already authored and published 13 books ranging from poetry to story to suit the appetite of the diverse contemporary generation. While things rest at this stage, she took the whole world by surprise by organising a mass book releasing function at the Raj Bhavan Trivandrum Kerala and the huge bunch of 17 books, authored and published by her were released at a time, by His Excellency SHRI ARIF MUHAMMED KHAN, the respected Governor of Kerala on Wednesday, 21 -10-2020 which covers a wide range of subjects including those for the children which the Governor emphasized and appreciated in his inspirational releasing address. He pointed out that books for children are comparatively less and stressed the need for publishing more books for children.
The 17 books which the Governor released on that occasion are -MUNTHIRIKKATAL, KATALUMMA, PRANAYAKKURIPPUKAL, PRANAYAJEEVITHAM, PRANAYATHINTE MANTHRIKA GEETANGAL, UTALEZHUTHU, JANAKIKKATU, EZHUTHU MURI, AKSHARA BHUMIKA, GREEK BALA KATHAKAL, SWAMI VIVEKANANDAN, MARJJARA CHARITHRAM, PRANAYATHINTE ULPPATHI PUSTHAKAM, PRANAYA MOHANAM, PRANAYATHINTE ATHMAKATHA, UPPU MANUSHYAN AND MAYIKA respectively.

The 13 books which were released earlier were THEEKKUPPAYAM, PRANAYA JALAKAM, RAHASYA SAMMANANGAL, AVAN POOMPATTAKALUTE THOTTATHILEYKKU CHIRAKU VITARTHUNNU(POEMS), LIP LOCK (LONG POEM) VAYICHETUKKAN KAZHIYATHATHU, DRAKKULA KATHA PARAYUNNU, PUTHIYA PATHROSE(STORIES), ORMMAYUTE MUNAMBANGAL, RATHRIYILE KATAL(LEKHANANGAL), A. AYYAPPAN NARAKATHINTE VISUDDHA KATHA(ORMMA)DIALOGUE and EZHUTHU MURI(INTERVIEWS) respectively.

തീക്കുപ്പായം, പ്രണയ ജാലകം, രഹസ്യ സമ്മാനങ്ങൾ, അവൻ പൂമ്പാറ്റകളുടെ തോട്ടത്തിലേക്ക് ചിറകു വിടർത്തുന്നു(കവിതാ സമാഹാരങ്ങൾ), ലിപ് ലോക്ക്(ദീർഘ കവിത), വായിച്ചെടുക്കാൻ കഴിയാത്തത്‌, ഡ്രാക്കുള പ്രണയിയ്ക്കുന്നു, പുതിയ പത്രോസ്(കഥകൾ), ഓർമ്മയുടെ മുനമ്പങ്ങൾ, രാത്രിയിലെ കടൽ(ലേഖനങ്ങൾ), എ. അയ്യപ്പൻ നരകത്തിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധ കവിത(ഓർമ്മ), ഡയലോഗ്, എഴുത്തു മുറി(അഭിമുഖങ്ങൾ) എന്നിവ. Now total 30 books!
It is worth mentioning here that about hundred poems have been published in the FACE BOOK regularly under the caption MUNTHIRI KKATAL and for poems there is a separate channel by name ‘PRANAYAMOHANAM’ in YOU TUBE. Another pleasing news is that one Mr. Sarath Chandralal, a renowned artist has done a series of pictures, based upon the imageries in the poems. Moreover, an audio album named PRANAYA JALAKAM has been done successfully. A noteworthy achievement is that the poem LIP LOCK has been translated in to English by K. JAYAKUMAR I A S recently. She is also the proudest winner of a cluster of AWARDS AND RECONITIONS from various organizations as well as the prominent prestigious AWARD from the BALASAHITHYA ISTITUTE Kerala in the recent past.
CONCLUSION:
As a queen wearing a cap adorned with many colourful feathers, SMT.BRUNDA PUNALUR is now poised to draw her long literary map to travel ahead with some ambitious plans to come out with more and more thematically diverse books and win many more laurels, prestigious awards and recognitions in the years to come! She has already bagged the appreciation and accolades from the literary circles as well as the aesthetic, enthusiastic book lovers all over, as the first ever young writer, that too a woman writer in the world, to release 17 varied books at a time before an audience, by the worthy Governor of Kerala. This unique amazing news was flashed in various popular medias and the world welcomed it with pleasant surprise and admiration!
It is worth mentioning here that in the midst of her domestic duties as a responsible house wife, she devotes a part of her time for literary activities also with absolute dedication and determination, making both the domestic as well as literary domains, fully justified.
