1.
You may think I am close to you,
I cannot change your view;
You may think you are dear to me,
I cannot change your thought;
You may think you are special to me,
I cannot change your idea;
I know whom I consider close, confidante 
and special; my behaviour will exhibit.

2.
Do not think I am close to you
Because I talk to you;
Do not think you are special to me
Because you think that way;
Do not think I crave for your company
When I know your true colour;
Do not think you are my confidante
When I know you can talk behind me.
Distance is our best friend.

3.
Closeness to a person takes time
Based on how the person has behaved 
in the past and now; 
how the person has treated the other 
in the past and now; how fair the person has been 
in the past and now. If you know to your
heart what and how you have been to another, 
that explains if someone is really close.

4.
After all that people have done to me,
After all the nonsense I have heard;
After all the crap I have faced and
After all the unfairness meted to me;
If you think you are special to me,
You are clearly not! When you have plotted 
against me along with others,
When you have instigated malice, 
you claim to be special?

5.
It is amazing how some people 
Think they are special and close,
When to their heart they know
All the nonsense they have done;
It is beguiling how some people
Think they hold a prime place in your life, 
when they know they deserve no place at all. 
People may think a million
But, your heart knows the truth.

6.
heer talking with a purpose in mind,
Having transactional conversations,
Not wanting to go any closer and
Maintaining a safe distance to help all;
Not trusting any word of what you say
And not heeding to your false tears;
Not wanting to know you more and
That you get no more turns to insult;
These show you are nit held close.

7.
When true colours of people surface
And you are aware of what and
How they are made of; 
Know being close is not for them;
Know how to abstain from them;
Let your approach be to the point;
Talk no more than what you should
And let no emotions flow out of you.
That is maturity!
