1.
When you have an anger burst
Do you notice how your words betray
what your heart truly holds;
A shift in your posture that is grim and intimidating;
A change in your face, almost demonic;
A change in your behaviour that is hurtful and venomous;
When your rage subsides, do you ever realise
the amount of pain you have inflicted?
You may forget when your anger fades
but it is going to stay forever and for long
in the minds of the other who heard,
saw and experienced the wrath of your temper.
2.
You may pass as an angry person,
But know anger is just one of many senses,
not the only sense.
You may leave the scene in anger,
but the hard truth remains and your real self has surfaced;
You may call yourself an angry person,
But hear this bitter truth that it is not a badge
but a reproach and a stain from your primitive past;
You may be known for your wild rage, but,
that does not exonerate you from this truth that
people find silence kinder than your voice.
3.
Anger bursts are not meant to do
any good for anyone- we know that!
A fit of rage spreads more unpleasantness
than warmth - we feel that!
Tantrums create toxicity, tearing the close bonds
we hold dear- we are aware of that!
A fierce tide called anger bruises our soul –
we should know that!
Anger is a tsunami, sweeping people
away from us - we read that!
Yet knowing the wrath of anger,
why do we fall prey to a force that can be contained?
Anger and balance intertwined build
a grounded human. Let us ponder,
"should we be labelled an angry human
or an approachable one?"
4.
When in anger, even music loses its rhapsody.
The notes reveal a hidden fury,
The voice takes on a tone that's sharp,
And the mind no longer dances with the body.
When in rage, your body blazes,
heat reaching new heights,
Your face becomes feral,
And your actions the opposite of
who you believed you were.
You seek happiness by offering
wounds wrapped in bitter words.
Have you ever paused to ask,
"is this necessary?" Have you ever wondered
what it might be to live without anger and
its cruel kin, belligerence?
Now is the time to reflect - For life is brief,
What you hurl in rage can never be taken back!
5.
When in anger, there comes a deluge of insults
that cut deep and sow pain; have you wondered - is it worth it?
When in anger, there comes torrential outbursts,
uncontrollable actions that leave others wounded;
Have you wondered - is it worth it?
When in anger, there brews a kerfuffle that
spreads toxicity far and wide; Have you wondered - is it worth it?
When in anger, the harshest instinct rise to the surface,
your screen drops and real revealed;
Have you wondered - is it worth it? Remember-
being a good human, a guiding mentor, a caring parent
and a true friend should be what sums up your short life.
6.
Anger, arrogance and avarice are qualities intertwined;
These exist in every human;
some learn to strike a balance;
while others allow these traits to take charge.
Anger gives rise to arrogance,
avarice feeds anger- a strange bonding
among the three! Having too much
breeds arrogance; wanting too much is avarice,
Not getting too much stirs anger.
How often do we pause to reflect this?
Everything in moderation helps.
Too much of anything is a disservice
to oneself and all around.
